The Asian continent's highest mountain is also found in Taiwan, where from the top you are above the clouds and some of the most miraculous views can be had from the awesome peak of the Jade Mountain. Some of the rare species found on the island are the Mikado pheasant, a rare grass lizard and a species of monkey known as the Formosan rock monkey. On the Island you can take a ride on a mountain train as well, it is one of the only three mountain railways in the world. The volcanic made landscape is phenomenal in every way and the tropical climate has opened the doors for some of the most incredible greenery in all of Asia. With all the diversity it has been called the Hawaii of Asia. For those who would like a break from the cities, Kenting is a perfect place to go for impeccable beaches and a quiet place to relax and let your stresses fade away. Resting on the south end of the island there are miles of golden sand beaches to kick off your shoes at or even to surf, jet ski, sail or deep sea fish. Kenting has a good selection of accommodations that are uniquely designed too and are all cozy with a comforting atmosphere to find peace in. Many national parks are just in reach of the town such as the Kenting National Park and there are many others just a short drive away. In the coastal town of Ye Lau, there are intriguing rock formations that warrant a visit. Unique weather carved rocks are spread out on the coast of the small town. Over thousands of years the nature has carved the rocks into sculptures of many imaginable sights, some see dinosaurs, some see kings and queens and some see nothing but the formations are truly amazing whatever you see them as. The spot makes for some wonderful pictures with great backdrops and the water is great for a dip as well. Visitors can also find museums, zoos and theme parks in Taiwan, Taipei the capital is home to the theme parks and the zoo along with some of the larger museums. When you are in Taiwan you should try to join in with the populous in some of the karaoke contests, which is a hugely popular pastime of the locals in recent times and just about anywhere you go out in Taipei will have karaoke night at least once a week.
