The festival also features family events, field trips, workshops and presentations, a photo contest and a banquet. Dino Days in Dixie, which take place at the St. George Dinosaur Discovery Site at Johnson Farm, feature dinosaur-related activities for all ages, including lectures, student art shows, “Paleo Poems” and other events. The Dinosaur Discovery site is home to over 1,000 dinosaur tracks and other dinosaur remains. The St. George Parade of Homes is a showcase of a set of newly constructed homes with the latest architectural designs, decor, interior and innovative techniques. The St. George Art Festival in April displays thousands of original works of art and fine craft by artists from all over the Western United States. First held in 1987, the Huntsman World Senior Games now have more than 7,000 participants from all over the world each year. The oldest participant so far has been 96. There are 22 different events at the games, some of which are basketball, bowling, bridge, golf, horseshoes, swimming and softball.

A major attraction in the area is the Tuacahn Amphitheater, presenting Broadway musicals amongst a backdrop of towering red rock cliffs. You can also visit the Utah Shakespearean Festival, which began in 1961, and focuses on entertaining, enriching and educating audiences through a professional, rotating repertory production of Shakespeare and other master dramatists. Next to Zion National Park, near Springdale's Virgin River is where you'll find the Zion Canyon Theatre Center featuring with a movie screen that is six stories high, souvenir shops, and Toaquim's Village.

If you are interested in the area wildlife, visit Rosenbruch Wildlife Museum - a new world-class facility allowing visitors to experience over 300 species of wildlife in their natural habitats. The St. George Art Museum houses a permanent collection of fine art.
Outdoor lovers will find plenty of recreations in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area - one of the largest canyons in the country. Lake Powell is also located there, stretching 186 miles and providing almost 2,000 miles of coastline. You can take advantage of the great boating, hiking, water sports, fishing, and camping. Cedar Breaks National Park, located near Cedar City is a gigantic amphitheater spanning for three miles, and it is over 2,000 feet deep. Enjoy towering pine, spruce and aspen trees, as well as beautiful and colourful windflowers.
