Southeast Asia
A South East Asia Holiday: Adventure and Fun-filled All the Time

Vacation Home Rentals Southeast Asia RentalSouth East Asia is quite a popular tourist destination especially Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines. Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Burma, Indonesia and Brunei get their share of tourists too though.  For instance, people are amazed by the world of beauty and riches offered by Brunei. Cambodia is just magical and enchanting to many tourists too. The gothic limestone karsts attract people to Laos. The dramatic vistas and the diverse cultures of Indonesia also lure tourists to the country. So there are truly many sites to visit while on a holiday in South East Asia. Whether you want light sightseeing, adventures or shopping in the metropolitan cities, you will be able to do it on your holiday in South East Asia.
Best Time to Visit in South East Asia
It is generally hot and sticky in South East Asia most of the year. It can also be rainy in various parts of the region as well. However, since South East Asia is in the tropics, you would also enjoy the temperate climate in some months of the year. Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam are slightly cooler though since these countries are farther from the equator.
To be specific, the months April and May are hot and dry in South East Asia. The monsoon rains are in the months of June and October. On the other hand, cool and dry winds are experienced between the months of November and February. This is the season when tourists try to escape the cold winter months in their own country and virtually go to countries like Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos, Burma and southern Vietnam where it's generally rain free. The Philippines, Singapore and northern Vietnam are rainy during these months though. So tourists visit Thailand and the Philippines from March to June when it's dry and sunny.
Places to Visit in South East Asia
If you are in Singapore, you should not miss going to Little India where you will find and enjoy the wall to wall shops and pungent aromas. This district reflects the opposite side of the urban and metro Singapore. There you can watch streetside cooks fry and try chapattis. Spice shops are in the area and the best temples are there too. Of course, the Chinatown Complex should also be explored.
Going to the Pudu Market in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia would be cool to experience too. In Kuching if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the downtown area, Bako National Park would be a great idea. Situated in between the mouths of Sarawak and Bako, you would surely love the fresh air and the scenery. The Batu Caves are quite a spectacle too. Tourists are always entertained by the monkeys and by the structures like the Temple Cave and the golden statue of Muruga.
In Laos, Wat Xieng Thong is a one of the temples mostly visited. Of course, among the most common structures in Laos are the Buddhas. In terms of arts and crafts, you will also enjoy the silk cloth and weavings from the Xieng Khuang Province. There are also Hmong-inspired designed bed and cushion covers in Th Nokeo Khumman.
On the other hand, the Philippines is quite famous for its beautiful beaches. If you want to have a beach vacation, you have a choice between Boracay, Puerto Galera, Cebu, Bohol, Davao and the Hundred Islands of Pangasinan. The old Spanish colonial city of Vigan is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Of course, Baguio is known as the summer capital of the Philippines.
Things to Do in South East Asia
In Laos, tours can be quite fun and interesting when done in elephant treks. Baw Nyai is a hot mineral spring whose source lies in the heavily wooded area. There are also some bamboo pipes assembled so tourist can bathe near the spring.
One thing you would love about being in Singapore is the mouthwatering but very affordable food in the city. Of course, if you have money to splurge you can shop till you drop in Singapore too. There are also many stylish restaurants all around. Various parks are worth visiting as well.
In Malaysia, there are many temples, rivers and jungles to explore. From an exploration in the Batu Caves to rafting trips, surely you would love the adventure. For a lighter and an easier tour, you can go on guided walks and cycling trips too.
South East Asia Holiday Rentals
With the diversity of cultures and sites in this subregion, you will also find varied choice in holiday accommodation. You will find posh hotels in the most metropolitan cities in South East Asia. Vacation rentals like holiday villas and holiday cottages are also available in every country and city. Whether you are in Singapore to do some shopping, in Brunei to see its royal palaces and cultural centers or in Indonesia to explore the jungles of Sumatra, appropriate accommodations would be accessible. You would have a choice in terms size, quality and prices as well. So whether you are looking for luxury or affordable accommodations, you would find it and you would surely enjoy it throughout your vacation.
