A Quiet Town That Stole the Spotlight Narragansett, Rohde Island was once a place for people heading to Newport to stop for a moment rest but now it brings in its own crowd looking to relax and kickback, it has gained its own reputation through the years. The town is set right on the crystal water of the Atlantic and is the perfect place for people to ride the wave on a board, swim or even just take a day to tear up the greens on the golf course. There is also a great selection of seafood in the town now. Over the years the abundant seafood has been very well perfected and is cooked in the same way. Fun filled bars and people filled taverns are host to karaoke and big crowds almost every weekend. The relaxed things to do in the quaint town are many and there is never a dull day to be had.For a beach day, pack a bag of beach towels and head to The 42 acre beach and join in on the sun soaking fun of the sunny days or rent a jet ski and hit the waves for an adrenaline fueled ride. Scarborough Beach has some really great features, like a boardwalk, some picnic areas and some trees to lie under so you can get out of the sun for a little while. There is also a large shower area, which are coin operated for those who would like to have a hot shower and a changing area too. Near the bathhouse there is a snack stand to grab some snacks and cold beverages, while you are on the beach. Surfers will like to go on over to the town beach it's smaller than its neighboring Scarborough its top notch surfing conditions and killer waves make it very popular especially for the sports enthusiast. There are many surfers who come to the town from around the states because of the giant swells on the town beach. On the beach you can find two pavilions, and showers to wash the sand off, among a few other perks of the beach. The surf shop has some great instructors to teach you how to ride the wave with ease. Burrow or rent a board before you head out to the shores. If you aren't much of a surfing kind of person, kickback and enjoy the show from the sand. Eating out a at seafood restaurant is always a great experience in the town as they are known to have the freshest seafood dishes around and there is a ton of restaurants right on the beach to choose from too. The ever popular Aunt Carrie's has been making fresh dishes and perfecting the cooking for over 85 year. This underground style gem has an indoor cafeteria and picnic tables, which follow a no shirt, no shoes, no problem policy is followed. Aunt Carrie's menu includes the lobster meal and all kinds of fish. Stop in at the local seaside bar, which is just near the historic towers off of Ocean Road and enjoy cocktails. All the drinks at the bar have pretty cool names native to the town's history and land features, a neat little addition to the feeling. The deck on the back of the historic bar has the most breathtaking views in the small town as most will say and it's the most busy spot to hang out as well. There is also the option to grab a bite downstairs in its popular restaurant. The beach life is prominent in the tiny beach town and you will notice the relaxed life in everything you do.
