Long Beach Island - Where You Will Always Feel Comfortable

Something's was missing from your last vacation, but you can't quite put your finger on what it is. Maybe it's that you haven't been spending your vacations on Long Beach Island. LBI is an 18-mile long island where you can see the ocean on either side of you, since the island is only a half-mile wide, making almost anywhere you stay a seaside escape. It has a reputation for being a doorway to a wondrous lifestyle, and the island has many swank, classy and luxurious holiday rentals throughout its 18 miles of beachfront land. Aside from the rentals there are many opulent five star resorts that will fit everyone's budget and cater to your needs. This is one thing to take advantage of while enjoying your stay.
In the Loveladies region of the Island you can enter the Long Beach Island Foundation of Arts and Sciences. The center hosts many events and sponsored programs for artists of all ages, so everyone is able to express their creative side in the encouraging environment. Viewing the foundation's many galleries is deeply moving and satisfying, as you go on a sensational journey of abstract and surreal artwork. The magnificent foundation was established in 1948 by the artist Boris Blai, who believed in sharing the values of art with everyone and giving everyone a place where their imaginations run free.
The Beach Haven area of the island has the only amusement park on the island, “Fantasy Island”. Fantasy Island creates a classic fair atmosphere of the 20th century, with carnival activities and classic carousels in the park. The family arcade is designed to be fun for all ages, with a big selection of modern and classic games. Kids' rides, such as the teacups, umbrella, and the tilt-a-whirl will have your small ones laughing up a storm. The park has a ton of prizes in the carnival games area, so bringing home a giant stuffed teddy is almost guaranteed.
On the island there is so much to see, but here are three places that will grab your attention: Barnegat Lighthouse State Park, located in the northern tip of the island, where you can climb the famous lighthouse, stealing a spectacular view of the coast and much of the island itself; the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge, which is only accessible by walking, will give you a view of wildlife like you have never seen before, a refuge with only minimal human interference in the natural habitat; and the Long Beach Island Historical Museum which focuses on the history of LBI and has many artifacts from the early explorers.
Long Beach Island has some of the best waves on the East Coast and attracts many surfers to its sandy shores, beginners and pros alike. If you have always wanted to try surfing but never had the chance to learn, LBI is the perfect place to give it a shot. The island has many different professional surfing classes available offering one-on-one lessons. Most provide you with a surfboard, wet suit and your choice of teacher. You will always feel comfortable, too, with many of the classes having male or female instructors to show you how to ride the waves like a pro. It'll be something to show off to your friends when you get back home.
Many claim that Long Beach Island is the best place on the whole East Coast for a perfect beach experience, with its wide range of activities and unspoiled scenery. It's a destination you will become passionate about visiting over and over again.
