A Marvelous Backdrop of Snow-covered Peaks and Lush, Green Forests

In fact, it's the deep emerald-green forests for which the range was named. The native breeds of the region are mighty and know the lands' ups and downs, handling them gracefully as you take in the view.
   
There is also a resort in the region that has nearly 96 miles of skiing and snowboarding slopes; it is the largest east of the Mississippi. The resort is named after the great region. Aside from the slopes, once the snow melts, the well-maintained runs soon become statewide mountain biking trails and hiking paths. The region really never slows down when it comes to outdoor activities.
   
The Killington region does not just have rugged adventures on offer, there are also a couple of PGA golf courses that visitors can go to and spend their day on the green perfecting their swings. The giant course is broken down into 12 different parts and they are all unique in form. Professional golfers grace the greens pretty regularly during the summer months to perfect their swings and prepare for the season.
   
Since the Killington region is located in the center of Vermont, it has adopted the nickname “The Heart of Vermont”, which is more than befitting. The great aspect to the heart of Vermont is that it is absolutely near everything. It is likely the Killington region can satisfy anyone's need for adventure, festivals and pure relaxation. The center is a good starting point to get to any of Vermont's historical landmarks as well.

Live music is one of the region's signatures, when it comes to scheduled events. Music is a big part of the state's culture in general and the region is no different from its neighboring areas in this department. From major concerts to small blue grass get-togethers, there are musical performances for every taste.
