A City With Something for Everyone

Fort Lauderdale, Florida may just be one of the most popular places in the south of the state, just next to Miami but that's because Fort Lauderdale has not been in so many movies. Fort Lauderdale brings just about everything Miami does and maybe even just a little more. Known as the yachting capital of the world, it is definitely a place you can find some of the best boating on Florida's east coast as hard as it is to believe, Fort Lauderdale is the seafarers paradise. The city actually has a system of canals running all throughout the city, 20 miles in total and nearly all of them run out to sea.
The city has plenty of golden sand beaches to lie out on too, with some of the cleanest waters south of Palm Beach. Like any great beach destination the beaches are full of opportunities to have fun on the water and on the sand. Water sports are a main form of enjoyment on the waters along with sailing and deep sea fishing. Anglers love to fish on Fort Lauderdale's bountiful Atlantic waters in search of trophy catches, such as giant sailfish, snook and huge tarpon. Jet ski rentals can always be found on the beach alongside places that rent out surfboards and places that charter for fishing excursions. There are also some places that can be found in the seaside shops that can set visitors up to take part in some para-surfing. Snorkeling shops near the coast will rent you out gear, take you out to some dive spots and even give you dive lessons if needed. The coast is booming in every aspect of the word, including the beachfront parties that take place every weekend.
Dining is second nature in Fort Lauderdale and this is noted well with the city having over 3000 restaurants to choose from. The city has places you can go to and enjoy a finely prepared meal while watching a live play or comedy show or even just watching an on screen movie theater like production. Tastes of food never lack in the town either, visitors will learn quickly that Fort Lauderdale knows cultural dining with food preparations from spicy Indian food, sweet Chinese cuisine, European desserts and some authentic Italian meals. That's all aside from the tasty and always above high standards of seafood that the city is home to. The seafood comes in fresh right off the boat and into most restaurants, to get a taste of the “just in catches” dine at one of the many seafood places right on the beach. These restaurants usually get their fish right when the fishermen dock their boats.
The city has a ton of places to take kids as well and they are sure to have a good time. One of its main attractions for the little ones is the local arcade which spans close to three acres of land. The small theme park ahs batting cages for the little baseball fans and a quarter mile race track little racers can speed around in high speed go karts, smaller kids can ride along with their parents in the double seater, giving them the chance to enjoy the ride too. Kids can take part in the indoor rock climbing wall or even hunt each other down in the maze like laser tag zone that is located on the top floor of the building. They also have putt-putt golf and water bumper boats.
Even without the good eating, kids places and phenomenal beaches, Fort Lauderdale has some of the best shopping on the coast as well and the designer shops are unlimited.
