The city proudly celebrates its history as a place in which logging used to be the main occupation in the Forks Timber Museum - you will be transported back in time through the displays about of lumber tools and trade.  The museum exhibits a threshing machine, an old-time steam donkey and a bunkhouse. Forks Loggers Memorial represents a 12-foot-tall logger. Nine signposts, scattered around downtown, tell in pictures the stories of old buildings and historical events. The Old Fashioned Fourth of July festival, held annually, creates a spirited atmosphere, reviving the streets of the city. Forks also has another reason to be a popular tourist destination, especially among the teenagers, familiar scenes from the Twilight book series by Stephanie Meyers, Forks and nearby La Push are frequently mentioned in the books.
   
There are many tourist attractions beckoning to visitors, such as Cape Flattery, Lake Ozette, Kalaloch Beach and the Northwest Coast, Sol Duc Falls and Lake Crescent so it won't be easy to decide what to begin with. Lovers of the outdoors will certainly enjoy exploring the mountain trails and the scenic riversides. Forks provides an incredible array of recreational opportunities during the warm summers. North of Forks, Clallam Bay-Sekiu and Neah Bay, rural communities, welcome vacationers for quiet getaways. If you want to take a closer look at Indian culture, the Quileute Indian village - La Push is the right place to go on the Pacific Coast.
   
A few miles away from the wild rivers are the ancient rain forests, which along with the dramatic shoreline create the unique and rich beauty of the area. The abundant forests in the valleys: Queets, Quinault, Bogachiel and Hoh are some of the best illustrations of time-honoured temperate rain forest throughout the Lower States.
