You can fish from the shore or drive 15 minutes to Solomon's Island and rent a boat. Solomon''s Island also offers elegant restaurants as well as fun spots where the blue crabs are spread on the table for your dining enjoyment. Art galleries and unique shops line the main street. Take your kids to the lighthouse tour or to Calvert County Marine Museum.





Twenty minutes from your quiet hideaway, you can do the shopping that you never have time to do at home -- Pier One, Bath and Body Works, Target, Walmart, Lowes, craft shops, etc. Take an afternoon and go to the Apex, a six-plex cinema or rent movies from the local Blockbuster.





This is truly a hidden away gem perfect for a family vacation. Young children will love building sandcastles on the beach.
