Central Oregon - You're Destination for Unlimited Recreational Activities

Vacation Rentals Central OregonA sports lover's haven, where you can do just about any sports activity imaginable, from golf to skiing in different seasons Central Oregon is the region that gives you all you need to satisfy your inner athlete. Find coveted fishing spots at over 150 rivers and lakes in the region, bringing in that big catch is a fine possibility. The outdoor adventures continue with a variety of activities including hiking, cycling and rock climbing, even hang gliding. Competitive fly-fishing reigns among the top of the list as the rivers flow rich with bounty.

Central Oregon really offers unlimited recreational activities; in the high desert area of Central Oregon you can see prehistoric fossil excavations. The high desert area is actually well-known for this. The desert stretch is also known for the small ghost towns dotted throughout the area, some having been abandoned for nearly a century. On your way through the area you will also come across some of the smallest cities in America spread out along Central Oregon's small back roads.

The arts scene has been rapidly growing over the years putting the region on the map for art enthusiasts from around the U.S. wanting to see the unique pieces in the many museums or exhibits. The nationally renowned museums are rejuvenating for both the soul and mind. Diverse galleries are scattered in the region bringing original works from all over the area.

The region is also a musically rich area featuring lively festivals and live musical performances for everyone.  The rhythm of the region is found in its celebrations and traditional blue grass style music. The music enters your soul as you clap your hands to the beat at the many large and inspiring music festivals.

Of course, in the winter months in the mountains of Central Oregon, you can hop on some of the best-groomed and cut ski and snowboarding runs, Mt. Bachelor being one of the more popular mountains for this winter recreation. The Three Sisters mountain chain, which includes Mt. Bachelor, in Central Oregon is the most popular mountain chain in Oregon. Skiing and snowboarding runs can be found on any of the three mountains, and all the runs are excellently maintained. Central Oregon also houses the Cascade Mountain chain as well - another great spot for skiers and snowboarders. Luxury resorts can be found on both the mountain chains ranging in levels of comfort and experience. You'll find yours based on your tastes in accommodation.
Being in the heart of Oregon also gives you the option of seeing the Oregon Coast without missing the other activities of the heartland - just take a shuttle or drive to the coast, which is only a couple hours away from Bend. The famous Crater Lake in Oregon is just a couple hours' drive from Central Oregon as well. Really, everything that you can't find in Central Oregon is just within an hour's drive but it's most likely you will find everything you are looking to do in the region. One of the big pluses of the region is that it's so easily accessible and the roads are well maintained, so your drive from any of the airports will never be a bumpy ride.

There is much more to Central Oregon that you just have to experience, like taking a hot air balloon ride over the lush green forests and skydiving over the high desert area. Among the amazing panoramic views there is great dining, from the traditional to exotic flavors. Discover the wonder of Central Oregon on the next trip you take.
