Have Fun in the Central Keys

The Florida Keys may be one of Florida's most popular destinations and the Central Keys offer some of the best things to do on the Keys chain of islands. The Central Keys are where Americans and foreign travelers alike go to have their tropical vacation within budget and without sacrificing luxury, comfort, attractions and most of all the beauty of the seaside. There is much to do in the area, for both children and adults, relaxing and swimming in the beautiful blue water being one of the most popular but when you are in a place that has miles of white sand beaches where the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico meet up, relaxing on the gorgeous sandy beaches is just an irresistible thing to do. In the Central Keys you will find more to do than sit out on the beaches though.
With the perfect blend of the Atlantic and Gulf fishing has taken a prominent role in the Central Keys lifestyle. The waters off the keys are some of the most bountiful seawaters in the world and fishermen alongside professional anglers troll the spectacular waters in search of the biggest catches. Sport fishing is very popular in the Keys; some try to reel in that 40 pound wahoo and some even cruise out to some of the local reefs, dive into the water with spear guns and fill their bags with grouper, snapper and yellow jacks. The area has earned the name “Sport Fishing Capital of the World”, which is well earned, many celebrity fishermen join in on the fun in the winter bringing in massively large sailfish. The weather is always good for fishing and just gets better in the winter adding in slightly cooler weather that never goes below 70 degrees.
Another way to spend some time in the Central Keys is to visit the butterfly gardens that have over 100 different kinds of butterfly species that fly around in the enclosed area which is about two acres. The Beautifully landscaped area has native plants that are placed throughout its nature trails that visitors walk. In the covered area there are many exotic and very pretty birds as well. The Gardens are surely an attraction no to miss. The area also features a sea turtle hospital which little ones and even grandparents will enjoy. The Dolphin research laboratory is a nice place for the whole family as well, here you can find bottlenose dolphins and California sea lions playing and learning. The marine life exhibits are many to be had in the Central keys.
