If you want the cool weather, December to April is the perfect months to go there. It is when hotel and other accommodations are most expensive though. If you crave for the heat, you should go there during summer. On the other hand, the hurricane season is between June and November. Bahamas Places to Visit and Enjoy

If you want to see the indigenous flora and fauna in the island, then head to Ardastra Gardens, Zoo and Conservation Parks. There you will see several placid iguanas, a variety of bird species and a few reptile species. In addition to that, the animal collection there includes jaguars, ocelots and monkeys.

If you want to see more of the marine life in the area, you can do so while diving or snorkeling while in the Bahamas. There are also facilities such as the Atlantis Waterscape where you will see around 200 species of marine life and a whole set of lagoons are. Live corals can be found in these lagoons too. Tubing is also an activity that can be done while in this facility.

If you crave to have long walks by the long stretches of the coastline, the Cable Beach is ideal for you. The Water Tower is also a great tourist attraction. When you reach the spot, you would have to go up the 216 steps to the top. But your efforts would be worth it when you reach the top because you will get the best panoramic view of the Nassau up there.

If you want a tour of Nassau though, Rawson Square is the perfect place to start. You can either join a guided tour or do the tour by yourself. At the center of the square you will see the bust of Sir Milo Butler, the first governor-general of the independent nation. There is also a fountain pool where bronze dolphins are leaping.

The most popular thing people do in the Bahamas is spending time on the beach. Some people just hang out there while others sample bathing in the beautiful waters. Water sports are also abundant in the island. You can go canoeing or kayaking with family or friends. Jet skiing, parasailing, kite boarding and water skiing can also be enjoyed while in the Bahamas. Shopping is also possible in the island. There's a Bahamian souk near the Prince George Wharf. There you can buy wood carvings, shirts, hats, mats, dolls and straw baskets among other items as souvenirs.
