The Vatican - This is a state within a state, and the home to the influential Roman Catholic Church. There's tons of history and culture to take in here, and it's definitely worth a visit. You won't find holiday villas inside the Vatican, but if you want to explore this microstate, rent a villa in the surrounding city.
