Island Hopping in the Philippines The Philippines is a country composed of more than 7,000 islands. The archipelagic nation is found on the western edge of the Pacific, off the coast of the Indochina Peninsula. It is one of the many countries of insular South East Asia. Being an archipelago, tourists would be pleased to know that the Philippines is home to island after island of white sand beaches and lush rainforests. Of particularly note is the Visayas group of islands found in the country's geographical center. The tropical paradise is a perfect getaway for your summer vacation. But why limit yourself to spending time in only one island, when you can travel from island to island. Experience the best of what the Philippines has to offer. Perhaps most famous amongst tourists and vacationers is the small island of Boracay, located in Western Visayas. It is home to white sand beaches and a line of hotels, villas, for the eager traveler. But Boracay is just one of the many island paradises one could visit. There is also El Nido Resort in Palawan, which offers one the best dive spots in the world, Tubbataha Reef Marine Park. So much so that it is a World Heritage Site. There is also the island province of Cebu, which contains Malapascua Island and Bantayan Island, amongst others or Puerto Galera in Mindoro, which offer inland and nature walks. And dozens, if not hundreds more islands just waiting for your perusal. Every island is full of potential for swimming, surfing, diving, boating, bonfires, beach games, etc. The only limitation is your resistance to have fun. And with friendly and welcoming locals, having fun won't be that hard. For the adventurous types, you can even take small boat tours to further explore the country's uninhabited islets. Or take a gander at the spectacular rock formations. All of which are splattered across the country's waters, just waiting for your visit and enthusiastic viewings. Vacation Homes Around the World
