People are just in a hurry to leave and have fun. Of course, anyone would prefer to enjoy rather than work. But then, it would actually be more convenient if you plan everything and iron out everything for the trip and things won't be a jumble when you get back home and to your work.

So before you take a few days off from work, make sure that all assignments and responsibilities are done first. Then you should clean your desk before leaving so nothing will get lost while you are away. You should also turn over things that may be needed while you are on vacation so things will go on smoothly at the office and you will not be disturbed while one vacation.

You should also leave your house clean. Trash should be disposed and the refrigerator should be cleared as well. In order not to waste money you should temporarily stop subscriptions and deliveries while you are away.

You should also make a list of the things you will need during the trip. You could also copy a sample checklist from the Internet and simply fine tune it to fit your needs. By doing so, you avoid forgetting essentials while packing. However, when you feel that you are already bringing too many things, you could also try to limit it to bare essentials. It's certainly more convenient for you. And you will also avoid over weight luggage charges.
