1. Iguazu Falls, Argentina/Brazil
Iguazu Falls indeed is a whole waterfall system, consisting of 275 waterfalls and cascades. There is no point to say that the sight of about 12 750 cubic meters water falling per second is breathtaking, because this is something really beyond the imagination! And the game between water and light is sometimes creating scenes which can never be created by artists' brush, but only by Mother Nature.
2. Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe/Zambia
Victoria Falls, situated between Zambia and Zimbabwe, are the largest falls in the world. They were named by David Livingstone after his Queen, but the falls are known also after the name "Mosi-oa-Tunya ", meaning the smoke that thunders. Victoria Falls is one of the world's natural wonders. The picturesque scene of so much water, the light that shines in all the colours of the spectrum, this is unbelievable and makes the observer feel so small and weak in front of the power of this beautiful creation of the Nature!
3. Niagara Falls, Canada/USA
Niagara Falls, are situated on the border between Canada and USA, and are one of the most amazing waterfalls in the world. Consisting of two main "parts", Niagara falls are divided by an island, called the "Goat island", which is all green and looks beautiful between the two thundering flows of water. People from all over the world go there to let this beauty stop their breath and have a sight that will always remember!
4. Detian Falls, China/Vietnam
Surrounded by karst peaks, beautiful Detian Falls are situated between Vietnam and China and are definitely one of the most picturesque waterfalls in the world! The water falls from 30 meters and is separated into three by the trees and rocks. The thunder produced by the epic crash of the water and rocks is really unique! This is a really relaxing mixture of colours - blue, green and white in many variations, and makes you feel that you stand in front of something mighty and gorgeous!
5. Gulfoss Falls, Iceland
Being a beautiful country, Iceland should be proud with its jewel - Gulfoss Falls, or as they are famous - the "Golden falls". They are one of the most powerful waterfalls in Europe. Extremely beautiful, the scene of the colours of the falls (blue, white and green), being a background of the colourful rainbows, can never be described by words or brush... Gulfoss Falls is a destination that everyone should consider going!
6. Angel Falls, Venezuela
Venezuela's pearl Angel Falls are the highest falls in the world; water is falling from 979 m (3212 ft), which is an amazing sight that can leave you breathless! The falls are situated at the edge of the mountain Auyantepui in Canaima National Park and the sight of water falling from the rocks is really gorgeous! The drops of water turn into white mist and this water dust in white forms a mysterious spirit of the place to strengthen its magical power! Once fallen in the charm of the place, you feel unable to take eyes off this beauty!
7. Kaieteur Falls, Guyana
Kaieteur Fall is situated in Kaieteur National park in Guyana and is the largest single drop waterfall in the world. It combines incredible height and enormous water volume, which makes it one of the most popular waterfalls in the world. The scenic and picturesque sight of the water falling among the green fresh plants of the rainforest brings the feeling of energy and life! An amazing place to visit!
8. Yellowstone Falls, USA
In the Yellowstone national park of USA, we can see the two Yellowstone falls - upper and lower, which are incredibly picturesque and beautiful. Numerous painters and photographers have tried to catch their beauty but they just have to be seen and this is the best way to estimate really this place! Falls, just like the park of Yellowstone are a place worth visiting, because they together are absolutely capable of inspiring anyone with their natural beauty!
9. Huangguoshu Waterfall, China
Huangguoshu is the largest waterfall in China; it is over Baishui River and is extremely beautiful and interesting place. Depending on the place, where you observe it, it changes and reveals more and more of its amazing charm. The water falls into Xiniu Pond with thunder, making white water dust, leaving the impression that there is no other power, mighty as its own. There is a cave, behind the waterfall, which is like closed by the curtain of water and is extremely interesting. In two words Huangguoshu Waterfall is one of the most beautiful places in the world and is definitely worth visiting!
10. Yosemite Falls, USA
Located in Yosemite National Park in USA, Yosemite Falls are best to visit in spring, when the level of the water flow is highest, because of the melting snow. It consists of three parts: upper and lower falls and middle cascades. The fame of the place is completely deserved and it is a preferred tourist destination. There are interesting myths and legends about it, which creates a little mysterious thrill about the pool - according to The Ahwahneechee people it was home of the spirits of a few witches. This is a very interesting and picturesque place, worth visiting!
